Gaining Confidence in Medication-Reconciliation Tasks at Work
Had a medication-reconciliation task on shift today that I’d only watched before. It was busy, I checked what I needed to check, and the senior nurse confirmed the documentation was accurate. I actually handled that properly. Not claiming I’ve mastered the job now. But the useful part was realising I didn’t need to feel fearless first. I needed a preparation routine and the sense to ask for verification when I wasn’t sure. I’m writing down what worked so the next one is less of a production.
