Feeling Overburdened by Family Expectations to Organize

On a family call, everyone looked to me to organise a practical arrangement because I usually reply first. My sibling wasn’t given any specific part of it, so it just quietly became my job again. I’m already fitting paid work and parenting around a shared home, and I don’t have much spare time or energy. They asked me because they’d already decided I would say yes. I feel bad even thinking about saying no, but why am I always the first person expected to organise everything? Being dependable shouldn’t mean being automatically available.

“Can you handle it?” needs to become “Which part are you taking?” Give your sibling one named task—transport, bookings, or confirmations—before you agree to organise anything else.
