I was cleaning out a cupboard and found one of the ordinary household things my wife used all the time
I was cleaning out a cupboard and found one of the ordinary household things my wife used all the time. For a moment I expected her to come back for it. Ridiculous, but there it was. Some days these small things hurt more than the anniversary. I don't want the house to become a museum, but throwing everything away is not exactly moving forward either. I told one of the family why this particular item mattered and decided not to discard it yet. Maybe I will keep it where it can still be used, or pass it on to someone who will value it. Not sure.
