Balancing Family Care Responsibilities and Work Commitments

I confirmed one date for my parent’s appointment across town, and somehow the whole arrangement has become mine—transport, paperwork, payment follow-up, all of it. One sibling is unavailable, and everyone else waits for the person who answered first. The appointment is important, obviously. But this will also take time away from the shop during an uneven week, and several separate calls are needed. Why is reliability treated as permanent availability? I want to send a simple list saying who will handle transport confirmation and who will follow up on payment, without it sounding like I am refusing to help. Asking relatives to take named parts should be normal, no?
