Struggling to Manage Financial Responsibilities Amid Requests for Help

The loan payment came out this month before I had a chance to decide what the money was for. Then a relative asked if I could help replace an appliance. I feel bad saying I can’t just say yes, but rent, food, school costs, and the next payments are already counted. People see a balance and assume it is spare money. It isn’t. I’m tired of explaining that being responsible does not mean there is always another small reserve to take from.
