Navigating New Challenges in Learning Ceramics
Second ceramics class: the rim of my bowl slumped, so I started it again and got it upright with a bit of help from the instructor. At least this one stayed upright. It’s lumpy, obviously, but I’m oddly more interested now rather than discouraged. I’m so used to being the competent person in a classroom that being visibly new feels ridiculous. Still, I registered for three more sessions and bought a small amount of clay to practise at home. Please send low-pressure encouragement, not praise that makes this into some heroic achievement.
