Today during handover again they said staffing is “under review”. I asked about the two temporary posts for next month, no proper answer. Just wait and see. How long can we keep waiting like this? We have rent, school fees, travel, everything to plan. Administration wants commitment from nurses but cannot give basic certainty about the job. My own name was not mentioned, and honestly I felt relieved. Then I felt bad because my coworker may lose her contract. Still, some ugly part of me is thinking temporary staff will be affected first. I hate that I am thinking like this. I am acting normal in the unit, but already calculating which payment can be delayed if something changes. Maybe I should have started looking earlier. Should I quietly apply to other hospitals now, before any official announcement? Or will it look disloyal if they find out?
