Setting Boundaries with a Coworker Sending Personal Messages
A coworker had been sending personal messages after work and suggested meeting one-on-one. I told them plainly that I want to keep things work-related. They agreed, and honestly it was easier to say than I expected. I don’t need to decide what they meant before deciding what I’m comfortable with. Now I’m just watching whether the boundary holds. I’d like to keep normal, friendly work contact, but if the personal messages start again I may need to be more distant. I’m relieved I said it before the situation became more awkward.
