Documenting Under-Recognised Work and Planning a Review Conversation
The comparison stopped being a feeling once I wrote down the work I actually do. While preparing a quarterly handover, I made a one-page list of the recurring responsibilities that aren’t in my role description. It is annoyingly persuasive, even to me. I’ve scheduled a review conversation with my manager and will keep it factual: role, responsibilities, compensation. I’m not in a position to resign impulsively, and I don’t dislike the work. I just don’t want “dependable” to keep meaning permanently under-recognised. At least now this is documented evidence rather than me quietly stewing over someone else’s salary.
