Facing Delayed Career Progression Despite Increased Responsibilities
I asked my manager how my long-standing supervisory responsibilities are being considered for progression. He postponed the discussion again, without giving a clear date. Now I keep thinking, if I continue waiting, will another year pass with me doing more and still having no next step? A colleague’s better offer made this harder to ignore, but I don’t want to turn his salary into an accusation. I depend on the stability of this job, so I’m not planning to resign impulsively. I’m listing my actual duties and will ask for a defined review date. Dependability is useful, but maybe it has also made me easy to overlook.
