Struggling with Hosting Roles When In-Laws Visit

My in-laws are coming to stay for a few days, and somehow the shopping and cooking plan was discussed with me before anyone asked whether I could actually manage it. I have work commitments and our rented flat is not exactly spacious, but the hosting part was treated as already agreed because I nodded in the moment. I do want them to come. I just don’t understand why family help automatically becomes my work. Can my husband take the lead on arrangements this time without it sounding like I’m rejecting his family?
