Of course daycare called me again during my teaching session
Of course daycare called me again during my teaching session. Child had fever, so obviously I left, arranged transport and collected them. I missed an assessed presentation. The other parent said they couldn’t leave work and would help later, which is not really help when I’ve already handled everything. I know the child needed me. I know work is not always easy to leave. I still feel angry that my PG training is automatically treated as the movable thing. I’m the one who usually solves it, so now it’s just assumed. Should I ask faculty for a rescheduled presentation and insist on an actual emergency plan with the other parent? Like alternating calls, or whoever is contacted has to manage it unless there’s a genuine emergency. I should have confirmed this instead of assuming they would take the call this time, but I’m tired of being the default parent and then feeling grateful for support that comes later.
