Feeling Pressured as the Default Flexible Parent During Schedule Conflicts
The school messaged about an early pickup on a day when both of us already had fixed commitments, and somehow everyone looked at my calendar first. I’m tired of being treated as the flexible parent by default, especially while we’re already reorganising work, school, and everything for the move. I do feel bad when our child’s schedule clashes with my work, but helping isn’t the problem. Being assigned before anyone asks is. We’ve now written down a rotating backup plan, which should probably have happened before another school message forced the conversation.
