The relocation date is confirmed now, so this is no longer something we can keep postponing. We’re sorting documents, belongings, work, housing, all of it, and suddenly the “new beginning” includes a lot of very boring expensive decisions. I wanted this move, but I don’t think I pictured the packing, farewells, or how much responsibility comes with bringing everyone into it. What if the new life is harder than the one we’re leaving? The child will carry changes they didn’t choose, which keeps sitting badly with me. Trying to work out what actually has to be settled before we leave and what can wait. I keep going between rushing so we can start properly and slowing down because maybe we need more time.
