I have not replied to my manager yet and it is already late
I have not replied to my manager yet and it is already late. He added a Saturday society visit to my route and wants me to carry the sample kit. The customer is in the senior salesperson’s territory, so if I go, his follow-up and credit will be shown, not mine. Normally I would just say yes. I have been doing that for around six weeks. Changed routes, after-hours visits, follow-ups shifted. Yesterday also one meeting was moved after I had visited the customer twice, and I was told not to make an issue from one visit. Tonight I typed “okay, I will manage” and deleted it. I was eating dal-rice from the steel tiffin, with the route sheet and the wedding photographer advance reminder beside it. Very normal evening, but I am feeling too angry for such a small message. I need the job. Wedding expenses are there, and if I refuse maybe they will say I have an attitude and give me worse routes. If I go, I will again be useful but not really counted. Maybe I also created this by always agreeing quickly and waiting for someone to notice. I don’t want to resign or fight dramatically. I just want the exhaustion to be understood. Should I cover this once and ask for a proper discussion about lead credit, or say no now? I honestly cannot tell what is self-respect and what is taking an unnecessary risk.
