I don’t know if I’m overreacting but team lead posted today that night shift people have to stay one extra hour for the next two weeks. Earlier also extra call reviews were “occasional”, now somehow they are a requirement. No clear thing about cab or whether this extra time is paid. My cab pickup changed twice today and I was still carrying my steel tiffin without opening it. Mummy was calling about a small repair at home, I saw the call but didn’t pick because I was already late and tired. Then I felt guilty, obviously. I keep saying this job is stable, but lately stability just means I know exactly how tired I will be tomorrow. I need the salary for Noida and to send some money home, so “just resign” is not practical. But I’m also angry that everyone calls it a small adjustment when it changes sleep, food, cabs and calls with family. I’m thinking of asking for a fixed leaving time and transport clarity, but anything in the work group can reach the team lead. If I stay quiet, I’m scared this will become permanent. People working night shifts, is this normal temporary adjustment or usually a sign to start looking quietly? I have been staring at job listings but haven’t opened even one...
